Channel 5 secures X Files Revival

The truth is closer than we think

In a surprise announcement it appears as if Channel 5 has got the rights to show the new X Files series here in the UK.

Originally Sky 1 were tipped to be getting the show, as they were in a deal to secure them not too long ago.

But Channel 5 appeared almost from nowhere and brought the episodes for what is believed to be £480k+ per episode.

It’s a very strange turn of events, but a welcome one, it’s nice to see something like this come to a terrestrial channel. Back when the X Files first aired it was on the BBC but since the rise of subscription TV shows like this usually go to…well the “bigger” channels.

There’s no news on an air date yet unfortunately. It’s on Fox over in the states and starts on the 24th of January so hopefully we won’t be too far behind.

I’m excited to see more of Mulder and Scully. What do you think? Let us know on the comments
