X-Men: Apocalypse trailer!

The Apocalypse is nigh

“I have never felt power like this before”
– Charles Xavier

Minutes ago, 20th Century Fox released the trailer for Bryan Singer’s latest instalment in the X-Men film franchise.
In it we see a world in chaos, even our mutant heroes appear to step further into uncertainty, not knowing if the world they’ve tried so hard to be a part of will still be there when they return from this latest outing.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence return as Professor Charles Xavier, Magneto and Raven/Mystique respectively, alongside the hugely welcome newcomers Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Kodi- Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner as Jean Grey and, above all, Oscar Isaac as En Sabah Nur, the eponymous villain, Apocalypse.

The story of X-Men: Apocalypse is set in motion by the re-awakening of Apocalypse, the very first and most powerful of all mutants who, since the earliest days of civilisation was worshipped as a god. Awakened from thousands of years of sleep, he finds that the world is no longer the same as the one he left behind and, in his disillusionment with it, he seeks to recruit 4 mutants who, with him, will wipe humanity from the earth and begin a new world order where, once again, he will reign supreme.
Naturally, the X-Men have to stop this.

Apocalypse was last seen in the post-credits sequence for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, standing atop a sandy dune, worshipped by chants of “En Sabah Nur” from tens of thousands of ancient Egyptians, while he telekinetically builds the pyramids. Over his shoulder, we see four out-of-focus figures mounted on horseback, silently watching. The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse.

We are very excited for this and have waited a long time to see Psylocke Jubilee and Apocalypse in action.
Stay until the end of the trailer for one more surprise that has been foreshadowed since X-Men: First Class.
